What is Air Tightness Testing?
An Air Tightness Test is carried out to assess how your property is performing when it comes to air loss. In Ireland, it’s quite expensive to heat a home for most of the year, so it’s vital to make sure that as much of this heat as possible is retained within your walls.
An Air Tightness Test is mandatory on all new buildings under Part L of Ireland’s building regulations. It’s there for very good reason however, as this test analyses where air flow is escaping through gaps in the building, including windows and doors.
