A Ber is a certificate of energy efficiency for your home. It is calculated following a survey which determines the insulation levels of the exposed elements of the house. It also determines the heat loss through windows and doors and through vents and chimneys.
It take into account the types,controls and efficiencys of the heating systems aswell as the types of lighting.
This information is then entered into the software which calculates the amount of energy consumption and CO2 emissions that the house has, and is rated on a scale of A-G accordingly.
